5 things to know about Ebola…

Salam dear friends,

The Ebola virus has become a part of our daily conversations, and our daily worries. This virus which centered in West Africa is frightening for many reasons.

It is caused by an RNA virus

It is the result of RNA (ribonucleic acid) virus that infects wild animals — like fruit bats, monkeys, gorillas, and chimpanzees — as well as people.

Early Ebola symptoms

Early symptoms include fever, headache, body aches, cough, stomach pain, vomiting, and diarrhea. Because these could be symptoms of other diseases, it’s difficult to diagnose Ebola early on.

Bleeding is common in the later stages of the virus.

Other symptoms of Ebola can appear quickly. The patient may vomit blood, have bloody diarrhea, and his eyes may become red.

Ebola is often fatal.

Nearly half of the cases of Ebola viral infection in West Africa have resulted in death.

There is no vaccine to prevent it.

For the moment, No… Vaccines in development have been effective at preventing Ebola infections in animal studies… In the case of human beings, it would be very difficult to test effectiveness of an experimental vaccine in people.

That’s it… Hope it was helpful… Talk to you soon Insha’ALLAH 🙂
