Song of the day

Salam dear readers,

It’s been a while since I did this.

Fact about me: I like songs with a message, a purpose. I love good music.

This is a song that I first heard a year ago, and I really love it. I respect this artist, and I’m very obsessed with most of his songs; I know that I’m definitely not the only one. Whenever I feel stressed, sad or moody; or even better, when I’m happy (anytime, anywhere actually) I listen to his songs.

This one has beautiful words, with a beautiful massage, and a beautiful rhythm (again most of his songs have that). Not so many people talk about this though (I know, even if it has 4,039,024 views on YouTube) , and I think they should.

As a Muslim and an Arab, his songs appeal to me, because of its message, values, and meaning. But even if you’re not an Arab or a Muslim, I highly recommend this for you. It has the English translation on it, so you will enjoy it for sure.

I know many talk about “اضحك“”Smile”,”كن أنت“”Be you”, and “لغات العالم“”the language of the words”; which are the most famous; these are my favorite as well. This one is really worth listening to; so go and do it if you didn’t already.

Talk to you soon insha’ALLAH.

To Our Countries…

Salam dear friends,

It’s been a long time since I shared with you my favorite videos. The ones I think you should watch, and share with other people; so they can watch and share them as well 😉

Anyway, this is one of the latest videos that I found on YouTube. It is a video created by a group of people who are living in Sweden, but are originally from different Arab countries.

I really like it, and I think you’ll like it as well.

This video is for all the countries that we love and feel a part of. This is for the countries that have been living in terrible conditions, and it’s for the people who lost their friends, and family.

We are sorry for not doing a thing to help you. We should say sorry for the sad mothers who have to live without their children. We have to say sorry for the innocent children who would not have the chance to live with their parents. We are sorry for not being there for you.

This video may not, and will not change the situation in Palestine, Syria, Iraq, or any other part of the world.. But, it’s a way to make you know that we know what’s going on there… We want you to know that we think about you every single day. And yes, we continue living our lives while you’re suffering, but we wish to see you living your life the way you want to. We want you to be happy.

When I was watching this video, I couldn’t stop crying… Powerful words, and beautiful Fairuz songs singing in a beautiful  way.

Many thanks to Rihan and Faia for making this video… Many thanks for the people who are spreading these kind of messages. 🙂

Talk to you soon Insha’ALLAH 😉

You need to know

Salam dear friends,

The “‘You need to know” category is about knowing things and sharing information with you guys.

Today, I share with you 10 things I think you need to know about my native language, Arabic 😉

1)- Arabic is the sixth most commonly spoken languages in the world.

2)-There are more than 300 million Arabic speaking people worldwide representing the Arab communities.

3)-Arabic is written from right to left (RTL).

4)-The Arabic alphabet has eight diacritics called in Arabic “تـشكيل” (pronounced: tashkeel). These diacritics are used for correct pronunciation since the same word can have different meanings or tenses.

5) Arabic has no capitalization.

6)-The Arabic letters may be linked or separate whether at the beginning, end or middle of a word or even when isolated.

7)- It has been a literary language for over 1500 years, and is the liturgical language of Islam.

8)- Arabic is written in script, not printed. Arabic inscriptions became widely available after the birth of Islam.

9)-The English language consists of many words with Arabic origin, such as: checkmate, cotton, magazine, algebra, mummy, and sherbet.

10)-The Arabic language has a vast abundance of words, which enables the language to reach a level of precision, which not many other Latin languages can match 😉 😉

Many people think that Arabic is a very difficult language to learn, but it’s not. It is so beautiful and rich. When you learn Arabic, you’ll have the chance to discover new ways of writing, and see the beauty of words 🙂  Another interesting fact about Arabic language is that some additional letters are used in Arabic to write place names or foreign words containing sounds which do not appear in Standard Arabic, such as /p/ or /g/.

That’s it for the moment… Talk to you soon Insha’ALLAH

Book review : My Life “Hayati”

Salam dear friends,

Today, I’m going to talk about an Arabic book called Hayati: حياتي, which means “My life”.

The book is written by the Egyptian historian and writer Ahmed Amin, who is one of the most brilliant writers of his time. Hayati is The autobiography of the writer himself. In this book, he tell us the story of his life, and even some parts of the life of his parents, friends and family.

When you read this amazing book, you will feel and live all the events that the writer tells us about. He describes Egypt and some countries that he visited. he also shows us the problems that he had and how he found solutions. What I liked more is that he describes himself in a beautiful way, which make us feel very close to him… 🙂

The story is about two different persons who are very similar: Amin, the young boy, the son, the innocent child who tries to learn more about life; and than there is: Amin, the adult, the father, the teacher who make us learn more about life. The book has a positive energy; it spreads beautiful positive thoughts 🙂

If I said that this book is a teacher itself, I won’t be lying. It’s a beautiful book that teaches us how a Man can survive, even if he faced a lot of troubles. It gives a strong message: You can be great, if you really insist.

When I was reading the book, I kept on thinking that maybe we complain a lot; I won’t use the ” maybe”, because we do complain a lot about everything. When you read the book, you keep on listening a voice that keeps on saying: STOP it, Stop complaining, people are facing much serious troubles than you do, and they still keep on living, and making a change, why don’t you ?? Stop it.

This book made me smile, laugh, cry, and most of all: it made think and learn… 😀 I really loved this book… When you’ll read it, you will live a journey that you wish it has no end. You will understand a lot of things about life just by reading it 🙂

A book that you need to read … 😉

Talk to you soon Insha’ALLAH 🙂
